Four kid gift ideas for Mom that can’t be bought in a store

Not all mothers want store-bought things like jewelry, flowers, or chocolates on special days, such as Mother’s Day or birthdays. Although these are always nice, there are other rather thoughtful gift ideas you can use anytime.

A squeaky clean car

This is a great gift for moms with young children. Her car is presumably littered with countless things like juice boxes, tissues, or dust from eating cereal on the car seat! Giving her a clean car as a gift is not only intentional, but it shows how much you appreciate her things and her!

Family game night

Put down the iPhones and laptops. Bring the family together with your favourite snacks, a night of laughter and full of fun! You can play one game or many. Whether it is Monopoly, Pictionary or charades, a game night is an awesome gift idea you can never buy at a store.

A day out doing her favourite things

This is a great gift principally for a mom with older kids. Has she asked you to join her for pottery class? Maybe Zumba? Or maybe dinner and a night at a play. Whatever is her poison, give in to it! It could be even crafting or a trip to the store to buy yarn. Take a deep breath and support her indulgence.

Tell her why you love her

Kids can say the darnedest things! Children can surprise you with their insights on your personality and behaviour. You can do this in many ways. You can get the kids together and record a video of the reasons they love mom. You can make a card and list the reasons too.
